Date Styles

When you type something like 2/2 in a cell, Excel knows you’re typing a date and formats it based on the date setting in Control Panel. Excel might format it as 2-Feb.

To change to different date format

  1. Select cell or range containing date to format.
  2. Select Short Date or Long Date category from Number group.
